Sip Smart: Everything You Need to Know
At The Broth Bar, we’re passionate about helping you feel your best from the inside out. This Q&A section was created to answer your most asked questions about Bone Broth. What makes it so healing, how to enjoy it, and why every ingredient we use has a purpose.
1
What is Bone Broth?
Bone Broth is a nutrient-rich liquid made by simmering animal bones, connective tissues, and vegetables for an extended period of time. This slow cooking process releases minerals, collagen, amino acids, and gelatin — all of which support gut health, joint health, and overall wellness.
2
How does Bone Broth work?
Bone Broth is rich in collagen, amino acids, and minerals that help repair and soothe the lining of your digestive tract. The gelatin and amino acids, especially glutamine, support the rebuilding of the gut lining, which can become damaged from stress, poor diet, or inflammation.
Think of it as nourishment that strengthens your gut from the inside out. The collagen helps “seal and heal” tiny openings in the intestinal wall, while the minerals and nutrients reduce inflammation and promote healthy digestion. Over time, this can improve nutrient absorption, reduce bloating, and support overall gut balance.
3
How do I store my Broth Bar Bone Broth?
Keep it refrigerated for up to 6 days or frozen for up to 6 months.
4
How much Bone Broth should I drink daily?
For best results, enjoy 8 ounces of Bone Broth daily or at least a few times per week. Many people start their morning with a warm cup, replace a meal, or sip it between meals to support energy, hydration, and digestion. Enjoy a warm cup at night for better sleep.
5
How do I prepare my bag of Bone Broth?
You can thaw it naturally in 2 days in the fridge or you can put the entire bag into a bowl of warm water to thaw quickly, then pour from the bag into a mug and microwave for 30 seconds at a time or heat on the stove top.
Then reseal the bag and store in the refrigerator.
We like to enjoy our Bone Broth warm, not too hot.

7
I purchased two bags of the same Bone Broth flavor, but one is darker in color than the other?
Each batch can vary in color and is hand made to order in small batches.
But don’t worry, it won’t vary in flavor.
8
Why don’t you use Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) in your Bone Broth?
~Because who wants to sit around and drink sour meat juice!
~ACV makes a great preservative. How do you think the other guys can keep it in a box on a shelf?
~If your trying to heal your gut, you definitely do NOT want to add fuel to the fire. ACV can irritate your gut and set back the healing process.
9

Why do we use Pink Himalayan Salt in our Bone Broth?
We use Pink Himalayan Salt because it’s one of the purest, most mineral-rich salts on earth. Unlike processed table salt, which is stripped of its natural minerals and often contains additives, Pink Himalayan Salt is hand-mined and unrefined, meaning it retains over 80 trace minerals that the body needs for balance and hydration.
In Bone Broth, it does more than enhance flavor it helps:
-
Support electrolyte balance and hydration
-
Aid digestion and nutrient absorption
-
Balance pH levels in the body
-
Deliver essential minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium
We choose Pink Himalayan Salt because it complements the natural mineral content of our Bone Broth, creating a nourishing, clean-tasting, and health-boosting blend your body will thank you for.
